Meet Dr. Benson Pulikkottil

Background and Training

Raised in NYC, Dr. Pulikkottil was accepted directly into medical school from high school through the extremely competitive Siena/Albany Medical College Early Admission Program. He then completed a demanding five-year General Surgery Residency at Rutgers University.

For the next two years, Dr. Pulikkottil performed research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, working on face and hand transplant cases. He was then chosen for an elite three-year Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the top-ranked University of Texas at Southwestern, where he worked with aesthetic and reconstructive surgery pioneers.

Finally, Dr. Pulikkottil underwent a year-long hand and microsurgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. His training culminated in Taiwan with additional advanced microsurgical training that allowed him to hone in on other precise surgical techniques.

Specialization

Dr. Pulikkottil specializes in the full gamut of reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. He excels at complicated reconstructive procedures all over the body and has additional expertise in hand and upper extremity techniques. From an aesthetic standpoint, Dr Pulikkottil has a keen eye and is extremely competent in facial plastic surgery and skin cancer reconstruction, with special proficiency in hand rejuvenation, body contouring and male plastic surgery.

Personal Life

Dr. Pulikkottil is married to Dr. Lily Daniali, who is also a plastic surgeon. The couple has two sons. He enjoys to spend time with his sons, fly fishing and training.
